Part 5 - Celebrating God's Faithfulnes.
Widow's Journal - Part 5
by Ev BaergAt the end of January I realized that I now had the sole responsibility to pray for those who as financial partners make it possible for me to minister with CCC.
And so I decided to pray (and send) the Scripture based prayers for them that John had found to be so effective. Click here to read them.
Several months later, some dear friends (ministry partners) lost 3 family members in a terrible car accident.
A few hours after they received the news they checked their emails and found the prayer I had prayed for them that week (based on Psalm 50:15)
‘that God would give them the ability to trust Him in their times of trouble and that HE WOULD RESCUE THEM (from fear or panic or the trouble itself) SO THEY WOULD GIVE HIM GLORY.’
They emailed to let me know how fitting they felt this was for them and added, “God is so good! We know He will help us in times of trouble and rescue us so we can give Him glory. “
I marveled that God had kept them from opening the email until after they heard their news (I had sent it two days earlier)
I wrote back and said, “My heart goes out to you! I can't even imagine that kind of shock. All I know is that God is able and faithful.”
Then I contemplated what I had just written, and I thought not only of how God has been faithfully bringing healing to my life, but also how He's been able to do it.
I ended by saying; “I'll be praying for your family, that God will comfort you in His own special way. (He has a thousand ways) He truly is able to do it and He doesn't do it all on one day. He is faithful to continue doing it even when everyone else has long since gotten on with their own lives.”
And then I get an email, and a handwritten note that both say, ‘we are praying for you’, and yesterday a staff member mentioned that he woke up at 3:30am and decided he was meant to pray and that I came to mind so he prayed for me.
I too need to ‘give God glory’ by letting you know what God has been continuing to do to faithfully answer your prayers ‘to rescue me’, but it will mean editing parts of my journal for public consumption; so watch for “Celebrating God’s faithfulness- part two”
