Dreaming God's Dreams
by Katherine KehlerJesus said, "I came to seek and to save the lost."He had a clear purpose. He never wavered from what God had sent him to do. What is God’s dream for you? Have you asked Him about it? Are you following His plan?
Helen Keller said,"Is there anything worse then being blind? Yes! The most pathetic person in the whole world is someone who has sight but has no vision."
Do you have a vision? What are you doing with the vision or dream God has given you? You must lead and leadership is simply the ability to turn a dream or a vision of a desired future state into a reality with and through the cooperation of other people. To throw your life into something worthwhile, your dream must be worth dying for.
I often hear women say, "To die for." Usually they are referring to delicious food or the latest in fashions. Would you die for the dream God has put in your heart? Think about it.
Have a big vision - something beyond your capabilities to keep you challenged.
Something that God will have to do through you. If your work is only for this moment, for yourself, for the accumulation of material things, for pleasure, you will soon become dissatisfied and disillusioned with life. Jesus didn’t think about Himself, His life plan was to seek and save the lost. What are you giving your life for?
Have a dream and vision that is greater then yourself - one that will leave this world a better place. Have a dream that will introduce people to Jesus Christ.
Father God, how often we say we would die for a new hair style, chocolate or the lastest fashions. Seldom do we think about the plan you have for our lives. Work in our hearts, Lord. Make your priorities our priorities. Thank you. Amen.
If you are looking for a deeply satisfying relationship with God, I encourage you to pray by faith and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, God has given you His Holy Spirit to help you live life according to His perfect plan. Why not pray this simple prayer and by faith invite Him to fill you with His Spirit:
Dear Father, I need you. I acknowledge that I have sinned against you by directing my own life. I thank You that You have forgiven my sins through Christ's death on the cross for me. I now invite Christ to again take His place on the throne of my life. Fill me with the Holy Spirit as You commanded me to be filled, and as You promised in Your Word that You would do if I asked in faith. I pray this in the name of Jesus. As an expression of my faith, I thank You for directing my life and for filling me with the Holy Spirit. Amen.
